(Besallion, Peter). Three documents from the family of the French Canadian Indian trader who lived in Pennsylvania: A 2pp letter in French from his sister-in-law, Jeanne Rouanay, in Prairie de la Maddelène, 12 Mar. 1697, saying her husband (Etienne) has been away for two years with the Ottawas and two brothers have married, one to an Indian girl of the Illinois nation; a 2pp letter in French from Peter's niece Catherine, thanking her uncle for his hospitality during her visit; and a blacksmith bill in English for 1755 and 1756 to Peter's wife Martha; he was often away from home on business with the Indians.
