Victoria (1819-1901). British Queen who reigned 1837-1901; at the time of her death it was said that the sun never set on the British Empire. Third person Autograph Letter Signed "The Queen" three times in the text, on gold-encrusted stationery, 2pp, 7x4 ½", Windsor Castle, 8 Feb. 1949. Very good; small stain at one corner of second and docket pages. With important military information regardingWellington, the deaths of Generals Arbuthnot and Guy Campbull; approving Lt. Gen. MacDonnel’s appointment, etc. With "Commander in Chief" stamp on first page; docketed "The Queen.".
