Leopold III and Astrid. King (1934-40 and briefly in 1950, before being forced to abdicate to his son) and Queen (she died tragically in a car crash in 1935) of Belgium. Photograph Signed "Lépold de Belgique" and "Astrid de Belgique" and inscribed "To the African Society…November 16th 1933," 13¾x9¾" (photo is 8¾x6¼"). Fine; some silvering; light soiling and edge tear to mount. A beautiful photo of the couple who married for love, signed the year before Leopold ascended to the throne of Belgium.
