Lot 701

1869 Liberty Seated Quarter Dollar. PCGS graded Proof 62 Cameo PQ. Only 600 proofs struck. Nice original toning near the edges. A sharp example of this scarcer date from the decade immediately following the close of the Civil War. With the 1869, the country switched from a disliked chief executive by the name of Andrew Johnson (who had come within one vote in the Senate of being impeached the year before) to the the more solid, if slightly confused but still beloved Ulysses S. Grant, a famous Union general who won the 1868 presidential election. Pop 3; 19 finer in Cameo at PCGS. (PCGS # 85568) .
Estimated Value $1,700 - 1,800.

Realized $1,265
