Roman Imperatorial Coinage. Sextus Pompey, d. 35 BC. AR Denarius, struck Sicily, c. 42-40 BC. Bare head of Pompey Magnus right, between jug and lituus. Reverse: The Catanaean brothers, with parents on shoulders, Neptune between. Craw. 511/3a; Sear II 1392. Well struck, with excellent portrait. Deeply toned, with traces of hoard patina. Bold Very Fine.
