Lot 1535

1909 Barber Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-65. Lovely blue and gold toning around the edges. Nice frosty coin. The surfaces are glossy and radiant. Need we remind bidders that a weak impression was left by the strike of the (often dilapidated) dies that usually struck Barber half dollars; however, in the present case, the opposite is true, the coin shows outstanding detail and a clear, bold strike at centers, with only a few of the stars at the margin on the left showing flat tops.Pop 42; 8 in 66. (PCGS # 6516) .
Estimated Value $2,200 - 2,700.

Realized $3,220
