Lot 1515

1897 Barber Half Dollar. PCGS graded Proof 65 Cameo. A nice untoned example. Bright silver color bursts from original surfaces unmarred by toning on this handsome Barber coin from the 1890s. A strong strike as well, making this a desirable Gem Proof specimen. As with the other coins from the same consignment of gems, this too displays a precision strike on the legends and main, well-frosted device, which is unusual except for the very finest specimens. Only 731 proofs struck. Pop 5; 4 in 66Cam; 4 in 67Cam (PCGS # 86544) .
Estimated Value $3,600 - 3,900.

Realized $3,278
