1783 Nova Constellatio. Blunt rays. NCS graded Details of EF-40 obv. damage. Double struck. There are, unfortunately, two deep scratches across obv. possibly contemporary to when these were in circulation. Uneven flan. The blunt rays variety is much scarcer than those with pointed rays. All blunt rays pieces have a small US on the other side. Some have suggested the "LIBERTAS JUSTICIA NOVA CONSTELLATIO" was worded that way because it sounds melodic to the ear.
