Lot 977

Attractive Juglet in Green Glass. Roman, c. 3rd to 4th century AD. Blown with wide funnel mouth, concave neck, and piriform body. The same colored glass forms a trailed thread that encircle the base of the mouth and neck. A thick trailed handle in slightly darker glass is at the side. Fine silvery iridescence, along with bright flashes of green, magenta, and purple over much of body. Body expertly repaired, with slight restoration in one spot. Nevertheless, the vessel remains sound, robust, and attractive. Height: 4-5/8"; on custom stand.
Estimated Value $300 - 400.
