Two Glass Bottles with Colorful Iridescence. Roman Empire, perhaps Syria, c. 3rd-4th century AD. Largest a perfume flask of clear glass, of inverted drop shape, with constricted neck and wide funnel mouth. Piece with black crusty patina, but where it has flaked off, gorgeous, intense multi-colors on a silvery base shine forth. The smaller globular jar of yellow-green glass similar, but with creme patina, and a more subdued, yet still widely colored iridescence. Both intact and choice. Heights: 5"; 2-5/16". Lot of 2 documents.
