Mason, Shirley (1901-1979) Silent screen actress who created the role of Little Hal in the original Broadway production of Squaw Man; she made her screen debut in 1910 with the old Edison company. In 1920, she signed with Fox and became their answer to Mary Pickford. She retired with the changeover to sound. Two Edwin Bower Hesser original vintage 14"x11" photographs, both with Hesser's backstamp and with yellow sheets of paper engraved with Hesser's name and the address of his studio at 1062 N. Western Ave. in Hollywood affixed to the back; Mason's name is typed in and the number of the photograph (3 and 6). Minor blemishes in the borders, else fine.
