George IV. King of Great Britain. Document Signed "George R." as King, 2pp (1 sheet), 14½"x9½", Carlton House, 1822 Oct. 25. With docketed integral leaf. Fine; printed on laid, watermarked paper, a few contemporary ink smears, soiling to docket leaf. The King approves an annuity to François Serra, "late Footman to Her Majesty." George IV separated from Queen Caroline in 1796, but when he ascended to the throne in 1820, she refused to give up her rights as queen. The House of Lords brought action (later dropped) for divorce on the grounds of adultery. A huge signature.
