1928, $50 Gold Certificate. Fr-2404. All gold certificates of the 1928 are now obsolete. The issue was short lived as the Gold Reserve Act follows, "This certifies that there have been deposited in the Treasury of the of 1933 required the surrender of all gold certificates, both large and small United States of America Dollars in gold coin payable to the bearer on demand. Unlike the large size gold notes, the reverse of this series is in green. Small size gold certificates are considered much scarcer than the old large size 1922-series notes in Gem condition. CGA graded Gem Uncirculated 65.
