Byzantine Empire. Leo III, 717-741 AD. Electrum Tremissis, uncertain Italian mint. With Constantine V. Crowned bearded bust of Leo facing, wearing chlamys, holding globus cruciger. Reverse: Crowned beardless bust of Constantine facing, wearing chlamys, holding cross. Cf. SBC 1540c. Obverse die showing some rust, and perhaps some reworking. Interesting and scarce. ICG graded VF-35.
