Byzantine Empire. Justin II, 565-578 AD. Gold Solidus (4.43 g), Constantinople mint. Helmeted and cuirassed bust facing, holding Victory on globus. Reverse: Constantinople enthroned facing, head right, holding spear and globus cruciger. SBC 345. Perhaps uncertain Western mint: perfectly centered on large, spread flan, with thick annular borders, with both sides, and especially the obverse, showing die rust. Choice Very Fine.
