Roman Empire. Honorius, 393-423 AD. Very Rare. Gold Solidus (4.41 g), Thessalonica mint, struck c. 408-420 AD. Diademed, helmeted, and cuirassed bust three-quarters facing, with spear and shield. Reverse: Constantinopolis enthroned frontal, head right, holding Victory on globe, foot on prow; TESOB in exergue. RIC 357 (R. 4). Highest areas of designs not fully struck up, otherwise rest is crisply struck. Clean fields, and very lustrous. About Extremely Fine.
