Roman Empire. Trajan Decius, 249-251 AD. Gold Aureus (4.14 g), Rome, 250 AD. Rare. Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right. Reverse: Uberitas left, holding money bag and cornucopia; VBERITAS AVG around. RIC 28; C. 104; Calico 3299 (same obverse die). Sharp, bold portrait; the reverse just a trifle weak; but the fields pristine and wonderfully lustrous, with rich, deep magenta-brown toning (with blue highlights) on the obverse, and lighter brown on the reverse. Choice Extremely Fine.
