Persia - Achaemenid Empire. Time of Xerxes II to Artaxerxes II, c. 420-375 BC. Gold Daric. Crowned Persian Royal Hero in kneeling-running stance right, with bow and spear. Reverse: Incuse punch. Carradice Type III-b, cf. Group C (pl. XIV, 42). Nicely centered, crisp strike on nearly round flan. Very lustrous. Attractive quality. ICG graded AU-50.
