Thrace. Maroneia. c. 189-145 BC. AR tetradrachm (15.51 g). Ivy-wreathed head of young Dionysos right. Reverse: Nude Dionysos standing half-left, holding grapes, narthex stalks and cloak; monogram to left and right. Cf. Schönert-Geiss 1235/1. Pleasing portrait and somewhat lavender tinted iridescent gray toning. Choice Very Fine / Very Fine.
