Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III, the Great, 336-323 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.09g), Amphipolis mint, struck c. 315-294 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin headdress. Reverse: Zeus enthroned left, holding eagle and scepter; Λ and torch before, monogram beneath throne. Price 490; SNG Cop. 119. Finely centered, on nice roundish flan. Lightly toned, with good eye-appeal. Nice Very Fine.
