Sicily. Syracuse. c. 430-420 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.15 g). Charioteer driving walking quadriga right, Nike flying above right and crowning horses. Reverse: Head of Arethusa right, hair tied with ribbon coiling around head; ethnic, and four dolphins swimming around. Boehringer 670; SNG ANS 220 (possibly same dies). Minor scattered smoothing in obverse fields. Nicely toned -- the reverse lovely. Fine / Very Fine.
