Netherlands - Groningen. Attack Repelled Medal, 1672. Silver. 57 mm. 37.41 grams. Bishops' forces in marching order before city. Reverse: Tiny city arms on double eagle, Latin legend, "May the Highest Glory be to God, Not only Honor to Lords, Citizens and Soldiers." Inscription celebrates breaking off of attack on August 17, 1672. Sharply struck with luster. Extremely Fine.
