Lot 2504

1875-CC $10 Liberty. NGC graded EF-45. Only 7,715 minted. Pop 4; 14 finer. Few dates in the series rival this 1875-CC's rarity in all grades. The present coin has the usual aspects, including some minor strike softness in the centers. What it doesn't have, however, is any problems. The rims are choice; the surfaces are clean with nice color, and the entire coin affords the prospective bidder excellent "eye-appeal" -- that sublte quality separating the average from above average specimen (PCGS # 8673) .

When seen -- which is not often -- the 1875-CC is apt to be in Very Fine, occasionally Extremely Fine preservation. Even a low level AU would be a major numismatic rarity and virtually impossible to afford. The present piece, solidly at Extremely Fine 45, is one of the more attractive available and will be a showpiece in the collection of its next owner.
Estimated Value $7,000 - 8,000.
