Lot 2046

1893-CC Morgan Dollar. PCGS graded MS-63. Well struck and mostly white. Pop 732; 355 in 64, 7 in 65. This is a first-rate Choice Mint State 63 example with eye appeal and limited bagmarks. Most examples of the 1893-CC Dollar are heavily bagmarked, however, this is a exception. Both sides have bright silver luster and are decently struck if not quite fully so. Neither side has even a hint of reflective surface (PCGS # 7222) .

The Carson City Mint building stands solidly today and serves as the Nevada State Museum on Carson Street, corner of Robinson. Coinage activity on Carson Street ended in 1893, coincidentally, the year of this frosty silver dollar. Several exhibits remain in place relating to Nevada history, including some about numismatics. A set of Carson City coinage comes to mind and we recommend a tour of this facility to anyone who has an interest in Carson City's history.
Estimated Value $5,500 - 6,000.

Realized $6,613
