1928 $20 St. Gaudens. NGC graded MS-66 Star. A stunning richly toned example with intense satiny mint luster throughout. Especially attractive is the presence of luster that bursts off of Liberty's mid-section into the fields. A fabulous double eagle that has never appeared in the numismatic market place since its original purchase directly from the Mint at the time of issue. NGC population is 43. In our last sale a similar example realized $4750. Purchased directly from the U.S. Mint in 1928 (PCGS # 9189) .
