Lot 1151

1923 $20 St. Gaudens. PCGS graded MS-65. Pale orange gold color and quite nicely struck with attractive surfaces. This date is considered to be a common one in average grade, and it is, but not in this choice state when it becomes quite rare. Though the mintage was 566,000, only about 100 gem quality examples have been graded. Pop 102 with only 2 in MS-66 as best (PCGS # 9175) .
Estimated Value $5,000 - 5,500.
