Ornate Small Bowl in Sterling, by Gorham. United States, c. 1920-1945. The footed bowl oval, with sharply angled sides and shoulders, the mouth with everted rim. On front and back, an intricate relief cartouche made up of arabesques of pansies(?). One with a handsomely engraved monogram: G E S. The bowls interior gilt. The piece perhaps a sugar bowl. Made by Gorham for Hess & Culbertson, model A2345. Attractive and fine, showing only modest use. Width: 5-3/8"; 175 grams.
