A clip from a news wire, dated 2-7-31, explains that the photograph shows the "Babe" celebrating his 37th birthday by sailing on the S.S. Shawnee for Florida to prepare for the upcoming baseball season. He is pictured with Dorothy Ruth, his wife, and his daughter Julia. Signed in blue ink across the lower portion of the adults' coats. Double matted and framed to an overall size of 18 x 12½ inches.
