Dean, James. Two 14 x 11" photos by Sanford Roth. In one, Dean's back is to the camera as he listens to Pegot Waring, his sculpture instructor; he is wearing a belt with his name on it. The second photo, made the same day as the first, in Warings's studio, shows him from right profile as he sculpts. He is wearing glasses and smoking. The photographer's stamp is on the verso of both photos. Dean was intellectually curious, sculpture being one of his interests.
