Crawford, Joan (1905-1977) Academy Award winning actress; her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is at 1750 Vine Street. Two original vintage 13¼ x 10¼ in. photographs, c. late 1920s. Embossed "Edwin Bower Hesser" imprint at lower left on both. A typed note is affixed to the back of one, from Karl Hesser: "This is the picture of Miss Joan Crawford from which pastel shipped to you was made. Head and shoulders only were featured in the pastel." Minor edge damage to one, easily matted out. Two lovely photos of a youthful Joan Crawford. She would become George Hurrell's favorite subject. These photos have been in storage for 40+ years, since Hesser's death.
