(Swanson, Gloria) (1897-1983) Star of silent films. One of the great screen personalities, she received three Academy Award nominations. Two original vintage photographs, one 13 x 9¼ in. and the other 14 x 11 in., both c. 1920s, by Edwin Bower Hesser. Photographer's stamp is on verso of both. One has been trimmed at right margin, not affecting the image; it has a faint spot at lower right, and some minor edge soiling; the other has very minor edge blemishes and slight silvering on image. Two dramatic poses. These photos have been in storage for 40+ years, since Hesser's death.
