(Monroe, Marilyn) - First Ad. Most people think Marilyn Monroe's first ad was in the April 26, 1946 issue of Family Circle. Wrong!!! Her very first ad was on the back cover of the March 1946 issue of Douglas Airview, the monthly publication of Douglas Aircraft Company in Santa Monica, California. There she is, in an ad for the Douglas DC-6: "Off To A Flying Start." Wearing a demure navy dress with a yellow scarf in the neckline and holding a stuffed white animal, she smiles down at the baby being held by the woman seated next to her. Some five months before changing her name, Norma Jeane appeared in this ad. The 24 page publication is in excellent condition. RARE!
Estimated Value $700 - 1,000.

Realized $1,080
