Valentine, D.T. Historian who compiled the series: "Manual of the Corporation of the City of New York," (best known as "Valentine's Manuals") from the mid 1840s to the early 1860s. Front Flyleaf from a manual Signed and Inscibed, "Presented to Col J. Vanderbilt with the respects of the compiler. June 1849. D.T. Valentine," 7¼ x 4½ in. A scarce autograph. Page is partially dampstained and is soiled on verso. With 6 x 3¾ in. engraving of Valentine.
