(The War With Mexico). Reports in the Arkansas State Democratic, Little Rock, April 16, 1847 (4 pp, 23 x 17¼ in.) on the fall of Vera Cruz and the battle of Buena Vista. General Winfield Scott was the hero of Vera Cruz and General Zachary Taylor of Buena Vista. There is other extensive news on the war with Mexico; also, Indian news, runaway slaves, etc. Very fine. Housed in a custom-made holder of black buckram with burgundy spine; the name of the paper, the date, and "Battles of Vera Cruz & Buena Vista" are in gilt lettering.
