Pahlavi, Mohammed Reza (1919-1980) Shah of Iran; close U.S. ally; overthrown by a revolution that brought the Ayatollah Khomeini to power in January 1979. Scarce signature ("M.R. Pahlavi") in blue ink on a 4 x 3 in. piece of white paper. The Shah died in exile in 1980.
