"Insula Creta hodie Candia" by Joh. Bapt. Homann, c.1697. Quite clean and fresh, a wonderful display item. A splendid document, hand-colored with red, green, yellow and turquoise. Highlighted by a magnificent cartouche vignette depicting Neptune with a cherub, other figures. Museum matted and framed to an overall size of 31.5 x 28". Very subtle remnants of tear fixing, barely noticeable. Fine.
