1857, 10¢ green, types II & III, . Scott 32,33. Two single use covers, first on a fresh yellow cover tied by San Francisco postmark to Medford MA, the other on small cover boldly tied by large "PAID" in grid, small red Boston Mass. double circle postmark to Montague Mass., this cover is puzzling as it can be explained in several ways: three times 3¢ plus 1¢ carrier, uncancelled on incoming mail from the West Coast or an origin outside of the U.S., or a gross over payment, the type III cover without side flap, F.-V.F., each with 2004 P.S.E. certificate.
