Lot 979

1872 Two Cents. PCGS graded MS-64 Brown. A beautiful example with soft iridescence seen atop the glossy brown surfaces. All details are well struck and the shield is remarkably free from nicks. Some shallow planchet depressions are seen in the vertical regions of the shield. The toning in the reverse periphery borders on rainbow in its appearance. A scarce issue with few survivors to be had in this grade, even fewer with this much eye appeal. PCGS population of 9 in MS64 BN with only 1 in MS65 BN (PCGS # 3612) .
Estimated Value $1,400 - 1,600.
The Michael M. Magdic Collection.

Realized $2,645
