Lot 956

1914-S Lincoln Cent. PCGS graded MS-65 Red & Brown. A key issue in the Lincoln small cent series that is scarce in gem condition regardless of the remaining mint red color. Fortunately, this example has retained a healthy portion of original mint red color, around 50%. Subdued surfaces are lustrous and the reverse has a light violet shadow to it. There is a small die crack extending from the rim right of coat tip and continuing northwest to the top of the coat, just under the mintmark. The 1914-S is underappreciated by the majority of small cent enthusiasts and generally is picked-off by specialists who appreciate the rarity of this issue. Housed in a first generation PCGS holder. PCGS population of 14 in MS-65 RB with none finer in RB.
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,250.

Realized $2,990
