1866 Indian Head Cent. PCGS graded Proof 65 Red. A fiery red gem with undisturbed reflectivity and rich coloration. Crisp, shimmering luster radiates around the obverse and reverse periphery. The devices, especially those on the reverse, have a frosty texture to them. Only 725 are reported to have been produced and survivors in correctly graded gem and Red condition are rare. This specimen can be identified by a small nick off the lower left portion of the upright of I in AMERICA. A choice and appealing gem free from any fly specks. PCGS population of 14 in PR-65RD with only 3 in PR-66RD as finest (PCGS # 2287) .
