Lot 822

1821 Coronet Head Cent. PCGS graded AU-53. Even chocolate brown with tan highlights. The surfaces have an appealing mottled appearance and are free from any marks. The 1821 large cent is always sought after as only two die pairings are known and it is significantly scarcer than the Randall hoard dates that precede it, like the 1818. A condition rarity that is scarce in such an appealing AU condition. PCGS population of 4 in AU-55, 6 in AU-58, 1 in MS-62 and 4 in MS-63 (PCGS # 1621) .
Estimated Value $1,800 - 2,000.
The Michael M. Magdic Collection.

Realized $2,300
