Byzantine Empire. John II, 1118-1143. Gold Hyperpyron. Seven hyperpyrons form this lot. Four were minted by John II: two are of gold (type of S. 1938), two are of electrum (S. 1942). Also included are three of Manuel I (S. 1974). The flans of these delicate scyphate coins are often broken a bit as these are, and several have graffiti showing ancient ownership. Lot of 7 coins. Otherwise Fine to Very Fine.
