Roman Empire. Rare Civil War Denarius, 68-69 AD. Diademed and veiled bust of Vesta right. Reverse: Zeus enthroned left, holding scepter, all within bordered incuse square; RIC 6; BMCRE 70. Porous, but most interesting and Very Rare. Ex CNG 51, lot 1235. Also, Roman Republic, Denarius, M. Cipius, 115-114 BC.: Roma / Biga (RSC Cipia 1). Toned, with some luster. Two Severan Denarii: Caracalla, Roma reverse (Sear 2000 6869); and a young Geta, as "Young Prince" (Sear 2000 7194). Last a Theban Stater, 379-338 BC., Shield / Amphora, vine above; one a very oblong value. A variety of tones and surfaces. Interesting group. The Civil War coin extremely rare. Lot of 5 coins. Coins range from Fine to About Extremely Fine.
