Achaemenid Empire. 5th century BC. Gold Daric (8.34 g). Persian king or hero right, in kneeling-running pose, holding spear and bow. Reverse: Incuse punch. Cf. Carradice Type IIib, Group A, 29. Some flatness towards one side, otherwise virtually as struck, with considerable luster. Choice Very Fine.
