Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III, the Great, 336-323 BC. Gold Stater (8.33 g), Tyre mint, struck c. 305-290 BC. Helmeted head of Athena right, snake ornament on helmet. Reverse: Nike standing left, holding wreath and stylis; monogram at left. Price 3554 (same obv. die); Muller 1586. Light die rust on Nike die. Good style, especially the reverse. Ex jewelry; some marks along edges. Choice Very Fine.
