Sicily. Syracuse. 474-450 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.29 g). Slow quadriga driven right by male charioteer being crowned by Nike flying above; in exergue, sea-serpent. Reverse: Head of Arethusa right with hair waved in front and tied with a diadem; around, four dolphins. Boehringer V-255 paired with R-343. Usual flan cracks; excellent detail and lustrous. Superb Extremely Fine.
