Lot 2613

Choice Mint State 1909-D $20 St. Gaudens. PCGS graded MS-63. Pleasing frosty surfaces with soft hints of rose toning. Very lustrous and appealing and only scattered small abrasions are found in the fields. There is a patch of raised die swirl lines just around the mintmark. Absolutely no hairlines in the fields and choice for the grade. A hoard that was dispersed made this previously rare date much more available up to the MS63 level. The condition of this piece is significantly finer than the average MS-63 and should be considered rare rather than just scarce. PCGS has graded 104 in MS-63, 98 in MS-64, 7 in MS-65, 2 in MS-66 and a single MS-67 as finest (PCGS # 9152) .
Estimated Value $6,000 - 6,500.
The Michael M. Magdic Collection.

Realized $6,613
