Lot 2589

1907 $20 St. Gaudens. High relief, Roman numerals, flat rim. PCGS graded MS-63. Beautiful yellow golden surfaces with completely intact skin and luster. Delicate die swirls at the tips of the sun rays on both obverse and reverse. A tiny horizontal tick mark on the upper thigh of Liberty's right leg. The eagle is completely untouched and pristine. The reverse quality of this piece is close to gem condition while the obverse has a faint hairline scuff from the border to just underneath the L of LIBERTY. The overall eye appeal of this coin is very "PQ" and we are sure heavy bidding will follow this example. The flat edge variety of Augustus Saint Gaudens famous design is significantly more rare the wire edge and regularly receives a premium in the numismatic marketplace. PGCS has graded 98 in MS-63 with a total of 84 finer. (PCGS # 9136) .
Estimated Value $17,000 - 18,000.
The Michael M. Magdic Collection.
