1905 $20 Liberty. MS-61. A satiny and lustrous uncirculated example of this scarce Philadelphia double eagle. Only 58,910 pieces were produced in 1905 and this issue is grouped with the 1902 and 1906 as the scarcest turn-of-the-century Philadelphia double eagles. The most commonly encountered uncirculated 1905 will grade between MS-61 - MS-62 and few have the texture and originality of this coin.
