Lot 2498

1882-S $20 Liberty. PCGS graded MS-62 PQ. Finely granular fields with rolling luster and the most delicate of rose, blue and teal hues. The 1882-S is readily available up to the MS61-MS62 grade range but choice MS-62 examples and above are quite rare. Having dealt in a great many number of San Francisco Type III double eagles, this cataloguer feels this is one of the more pleasing examples seen. Lustrous and bold with minimal bag marks and no hairlines. PCGS has graded 164 in MS-62, 7 in MS-63 and a single MS-64 as the finest (PCGS # 8998) .
Estimated Value $1,800 - 2,200.
The Michael M. Magdic Collection.

Realized $2,473
